About Me
ELIXIR SOFTWARE ENGINEER & DIVERSTIY AND INCLUSION ADVOCATE
My name is Ana Benites. I am from Peru and I am currently working as an elixir software engineer in the fintech sector in Berlin, Germany. I am curious, like to discover new cultures and ways of thinking.
I studied business administration at the Vienna University of Business and Economics in Vienna, Austria. I was part of a summer program at the London School of Economics where I took advance coporate finance and I am currently studying Computer Science at the University of London. Besides that, I speak english, spanish, french and german.
My interest for technology and specially coding started after I came back from Europe to Perú, I started to collaborate and participate as a volunteer in a peruvian group that support the inclusion of more latin women in tech. I realised then the power of using technology(in this case coding) as a social tool and the many options that learning how to code can offer to everyone.
I decided to make a career change, start to code and break into the industry and that is what happened. For me is really important to have more women and underrepresented groups in the tech sector because we all deserve an opportunity to participate in this 4th revolution which is the digital one.
